Brief Description: SS Firewall is ready for polishing
Ugh, remind me next time that replacing a firewall will never be less than a $200 investment considering the cost of specialized drill bits for the job. Thank God it's done. I only had to modify the SS sheet once after a trial fit in order to get everything in place and laying flat against the firewall. I also made 2 new spar sheets that are shaped closer to the spar lines than the previous versions. Now all things SS are ready for polishing which will take a day if I'm guessing correctly. Lots of wet sanding from 400 grit to 3000 then buffing it to a shine. When finished, it will look fantastic, but lots of elbow grease required. For now, the bird will get al the other work completed. The installation of the SS will happen after the white primer is finished.
