Started assembly of the stabilator by completing Steps 1-5, page 9-03. WD-1207 and WD-1208 horns did not fit tightly around the spar box assembly (as reported by some other builders). Total gap was approximately 0.065". Confirmed with Van's tech support that it was okay to use shims. Fabricated 4 shims from 0.032" 2024-T3 aluminum sheet and match-drilled to horns.
