Here is my poor man's panel designer. A piece of foam core cut to the same shape as the panel and black paper instruments with labels. The pieces of paper are cut to scale size for the instruments I have and can be moved to try different panel configurations. I have an old A-9 magneto switch that I definately want to use. Also I want to leave room to put a GPS portable. I bought a whole batch of UMA 1 1/4" gauges on Ebay and had them sent out for recalibration these are a bit small but they sure save space. I have eight gauges all together 6 will be clustered and the vacuum gauge will be up top. The eighth is a spare fuel gauge. The rest of the panel will be mainly a typical VFR set-up. I like Image 3 best so far.
