Brief Description:  Baggage compartment-instrument panel

This became a bit more tricky than I anticipated as one of the fuselage tubes is set at an acute angle to the insturment panel. Getting the correct location of the cutout was a challenge. I started small then worked it up to the full size. In Image 3, I put a piece of square tubing from the firewall to the top of the rear instrument panel to make sure the forward instrument panel was set at the right angle and there would be room to install the flange. This is tricky because of the lack of references The only reference I have is that straight piece of tubing along the top of the fuselage.By doing the panel in this order I can install the flange along the top of the panel then use some fender welt to make a nice finish between the inside of the top cowling and the top of the instrument panel. At this point I plan on adding the glove box door and instrument holes before putting the flange on as the panel will be easier to work with while it is still flat.
