Brief Description: Landing Gear-Welding the end fitting.
.050" 4130 stock is cut out using an aluminum pattern. The metal is placed in my home made press die for 5/16" bushings. The straps are prebent to a U-shape. Clamped in place, the edges are welded to the bushing at the top end. Note that extra bushing length is left on to act as a heat sink. The extra will be cut to proper length when final fitting is done.
