Brief Description: Slats

|
Started on the inboard portion of the passenger side slats today. Fabbed up the angle brackets for the ribs, clecoed to skin, drilled out to A-4 & disassembled for deburring and priming. Riveted ribs to the bottom skin, pulled the top skins over and clecoed in place. This is a difficult 1 man job, ended up using a 2x4 to spread the pressure over the top skin while using a wood shim to lift the edge of the top skin over the bottom skin. Unless you are familiar with this part, this sequence is hard to explain without a video presentation. Finally got it clecoed up, but it's hard to align the center rib. Had to go fishing for the rivet holes with a long 1/8" drill bit to get alignment. Drilled everything out to A-4, deburred, and primed. Ready for riveting tomorrow. The next section of slats will be easier now that I've learned a couple of tricks.
60 total hrs. to date.
