Brief Description:  Practice Project 1 - Tool Box (Continued)

Started riveting the toolbox.

If I can only get control of the nerves. Didn't do so well with riveting at Oshkoosh workshop at Airventure 2016.

After settling down, Both ends came out pretty well but there were some minor dings caused by the rivet gun and a couple of bad rivets that needed to be repaired.

However, lessons learned:

1. Really need to get carpet for the workbench. All of the aluminum on the botton of the project is really scratched.

2. Need to do a better job of keeping the parts seperated. Again, to avoid scratching.

3. While Van's recommends removing the blue protective coating ASAP upon receipt, I think I'm going to keep it on and use the trick to melt the stuff on the sides of the rivet lines to help protect it even better. With a small workshop, you need all of the help you can get.

4. When deburing, don't use the Scotchbrite wheel around the rivet line! Takes off all of the protective coating of the aluminum.

5. Keep advisery circular 43.13 handy.
