Brief Description: Started working on Vertical Stabilizer
Took a few weeks off building the airplane to build myself a small paint booth in my workshop. I ran out of money before I could buy a door for it, so I decided to start working on the vertical stabilizer. Seems like it went together much faster than the horizontal stabilizer. Clecoed the spars, doublers and ribs together and final drilled them. Clecoed the skin on and final drilled it to the spars and ribs. Disassembled the whole thing and started deburing holes. I decided to add the optional lightening holes to the rear spar doubler. I only had a 1-1/2" diameter hole saw, so all of them are that diameter even though the two bottom ones were called out as 2" diameter on the drawing. Turned out OK. The hole saw leaves a bit of a rough finish on the holes, so it took a little while to clean them up. Alex checked them for me and said the were OK.
