Brief Description:  Priming the HS

Used the Stuart Systems EkoClean, EkoEtch, and EkoPoxy primer on all the parts of the HS. This was by far the most painful task thus far. Due to the high temps and humidity flux here in Oz this time of year, I needed to time my prep and prime around the ideal times. Ended up cleaning and wash the parts early in the morning when the humdity was highest, then allowed to dry druing middle part of day when humidity is lowest. Then apply primer when temps come back down and before humidity goes back up! First I cleaned the parts in the shower with the cleaner. Then sprayed each with a small spray bottle to etch, using a scotchbrite bad to gently scrub in. Allow the etch to remain on for 3 mins using a timer. Then rinsed throughly with water from the shower hand wand. After that dried each part for about 4 hours. The ideal temp is 60-85 degrees and <75% humidity. After reaching those, it was time to paint. Set the compressor to 65 psi, about 1.5 turns on the fan, air wide open, and pait wide open on my Harbor Freight paint gun. Ended up providing good coverage. A whole lot of work. But it all ws cleaned up with good old water, so very little chemical risk and paint looks touch as nails.
