Today was spent forming the 1" x 0.065 square 4130 tubes for the I-Strut. I tried using a hand held heat torch and a wooden profile to bend it around but this did not generate enough heat. I borrowed a friends oxy-acetylene torch and this provided a nice, cherry-red heat. I carefully used a bench vice to help form the correct profile. A patience exercise...bend a little...match the profile....bend some more etc etc. Worked very well in the end. These are now ready to attach to the wings.
