Brief Description:  Upper wing trailing edges - starboard wing

Prepared the formed aluminium trailing edges for the starboard wing. I cut each section to the correct length, marked the position of each rib and then "crimped" or flattened these marks so that they blended with the rib surfaces. I used pliers with masking tape to prevent scoring the aluminium with the pliers. An aluminium straight edge was used to mark a fixed distance back from the rear spar so that the trailing edge was parallel with the rear spar. The inside of the trailing edge was "scuffed" with sand paper where the epoxy is to bond with the rib to maximise adhesion. The inside was then cleaned with acetone prior to gluing.

The trailing edge was then glued onto the ribs. Extra glue was placed into the trailing edge and at the end of each rib. This will help prevent the trailing edge moving when tension is applied to the fabric covering. The aluminium straight edge was clamped and then the trailing edge was taped to it to get a very straight edge, especially between the main wing and aileron.
