Thanks to Andre Burger in South Africa for these two tips which are worth reinforcing.
Manual 8-54. On DWG 78 see VS-702 Trim Detail - I trimmed this to 6/16" and not 9/16" and it worked out OK leaving minimum edge distance for the bottom row of AN470 rivets. You may want to trim less than 6/16" and take a bit more off if required.
Manual 8-55. The top row of the F-884 Attach Plate to Spacer to VS-702 Front Spar are very difficult even with a right angle drill attachment. Tip at this point in the build remove the VS and do the remaining work off the fuselage - very straight forward. Leave the VS off whilst you do all the Elevator Control System (8-56) it provides much easier access and is not required until you do the rudder.
