Brief Description:  Drilling WD-808 Seatback Support 1

Whilst fitting WD-808, Canopy rail and F-856-1 spacer I noticed that there was going to be a major issue with edge distance of the aft most AN509-8R8 screw.(see first image of RH side)

I checked Jeff Preous site and discovered he had drilled before the problem was noticed and it cost hime a lot of time and $ with replaced parts.

DO NOT FOLLOW THE VANS INSTRUCTIONS ON 8-28 FOR DRILLING WD-808!

There are two issues. First if you follow Van's instructions you are only securing WD-808 and F-817 Support Plate and not to the F-806 Bulkhead, side skin and cockpit rail. (This gap is denoted in image 2 with the red lines on F-817 and F-806)

To resolve this I clamped WD-808 to the skin at the 806 bulkhead (clamp 1) and then drilled the second aft most AN509-8R8 screw then clamped at that location (clamp 2)
