Brief Description:  Tailcone to Forward Fuselage

This was a two person job to add the side skins and the main lower skin. Post note make sure side skins go under 823 - no mention in instructions but skin drawing shows this and it makes sense.

I departed from the instructions and strapped F-842 under the F-889 Lower Longerons. I then slid it forward to slot between the seat rib bottom skins/F-807 and F-823. Took several goes but got there in the end!

To fit F-828 I departed from the instructions and added F-812 and 811 assemblies to the side skins and removed F-810. I hand bent 828 to a better shape (it was too flat) then clecod the forward end of 828 to F-842 (see photo 2). I strapped the rear and slid 828 forward just like I did with 842. I then clecod 828 to the lower longerons and 812/811 assemblies. Then I re-inserted 810 and clecod that.

I think my wrists will hurt tommorrow with all this clecoing!

I then made a tempory fit of the 887 upper longerons to locate the VS stab attach bars and cut out the 5/16" notch shown in detail A on DWG 66.

What followed next was probably the best part of the build so far for me - the upper longerons fitted like a glove! On cloud No 9! OK so it's all going to have to come apart again but let me enjoy this high!

As Jill said - it's starting to look like a plane now. That was good of her to say that as she has been brilliant in just letting me get on and build this thing. At least now she can see light at then end of the tunnel - even if the project is only 50% complete!
