Brief Description:  Jetflex Interior Paint

I read from various websites about Jetflex Interior Paint and liked the fact that it was water reducible and sounded really tough, after all it is used in the interior cabins of Virgin, Air France, Alitalia, Quantas, Singapore Airlines and many others.

Firstly it is very expensive but then I want the cockpit paint to be very durable, which it appears to be and hopefully in the long run it will be a good investment.

In the UK you buy from PSG and you can have any colour from the recognised standard colours.

The Hawk was my favourite RAF aircraft so decided to go for that colour (BS381 632 Dark Admiralty Grey - Low Gloss). Grey tends not show up dirt and there should be no reflections in the canopy, which tends to happen with light colours.

I conducted some tests:

1. It is SO much easier to spray than Bullseye 123 (I dilluted 20% de-ionised water) - a real joy
2. I rubbed the edge of a coin over the surface of some aluminium sheet as follows:
a. Rolled (no dillution) on top of B123 - really tough
b. Sprayed (20% diluted) on B123 - really tough
c. Sprayed (20% diluted) on Scotchbrited surface wiped with IPA - Good but not as tough
d. Sprayed (20% diluted) on alclad surface wiped with IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) - scratched

I used the spray gun that I use for priming (1.8mm HVLP) and it not only sprayed well but was ready for a second coat in 15 minutes! I'm quite impressed so far and will go for a) and b).

At May 2016 PSG are not selling to private individuals - only to companies due to Health and Safety. Please email me if this changes and I will update this page.
