Once the aircraft is built I would like to enter Standard Class aerobatic competitions, do some minor display work and also enter handicapped air races. As a result I would like to fit a smoke system from Smokin Airplanes that has very good reviews from other users and it will also act as visual ID.
C og G was a major consideration as was not taking up vlauable baggage space. Like everything in aviation I went for a compromise and as I had a light prop I didn't need the aft battery tray. That area is strengthened for a 25 lb Concorde Battery so I built a custom tank (next pages) that when full (10 litres) will weigh about that weight. It is hidden under the aft baggage bay shelf and filled from a door in the fuselage side. If the oil will put my CG too far aft I can pump it into a container that can either be left at base or used as ballast in the fwd baggage bay well.
This mod comprises of three items: 1. Smoke pump reinforcement doublers to fit pump under cockpit right hand console on the floor. 2. Smoke tank fitted at rear battery tray location. 3. Access door to fill/drain the smoke tank
