In the previous section we saw my phrase "aft end hugging" and you can see that in the first photo along with the notch - lousy fit but no big deal.
Its a case of fit and trim, fit and trim until you end up with both halves butted together. In my case I had to push the right side up quite a bit to reduce the curved fuselage skin gap to an acceptable minimum.
I then made a 0.032" plate and with the help of my wife and son we drilled the two halves together. I plan to join these later and probably rivet them underneath once I have finished all the shimming (not too much I think).
Prior to drilling of the two halves I final drilled all skirt to canopy frame holes to #30.
