As I have a very light Catto 3 blade composite prop on my IO-360 I am fitting my battery tray to the firewall and also I have a smoke tank on the aft battery tray location. The supplied battery tray in the kit is for the 25 lb Concord and like many builders I am fitting the smaller and lighter 15 lb Odyssey PC680 battery.
Whilst Van's sell an Odyssey kit I decided to adapt the Concode tray and used Drawing 31. The only modifications to the drawing were: * moved the inboard angle to match the battery width * added two angles for fore and aft support. * battery clamp accross narrow part of battery due to shape * didn't have any 3/4"x3/4"x1/8" angle so used 1" and trimmed it
As of Nov 2014 (185 hrs) - no issues with battery or installation
