Brief Description: Nigel Charles RV8 Jack Attachment Pt1
Nigel flies an RV8 here in the UK and we had discussed different ideas about a simple RV8 jack attachment. Difference was Nigel did something about it - well done Nige!
Most important thing is your gear leg must have the hole that is in the centre of the 4 axle bolts (see photo 1) as without the retaining AN3 bolt there is a possibility that the attachment could slip off. I understand current gear legs do not have this hole but you could drill one if you are at the build stage.
Basically: * Locate center of axle bolts * Punch > drill #40 > #21 * Tap with 10-32 * Fabricate attachment * Drill hole for bolt (AN3-17 works with these dimensions) enlarge as required as bolt must not take the shear load
