I had visited Dublin when I flew for Netjets so the main benefit was for Jill. Its not the cheapest of places (Weston and Dublin) but it proved to be a highlight - why? Oddly at all the other venues on our tour there was no live Irish Music - step in Dublin and The Oliver St John Gogarty music bar.
We watched 3 male musicians start to play and I thought they're bored stiff playing simple chords - this could be a yawn - then they played The Hornpipe - wow can these boys play. The banter, the songs and the Guiness were great and we had a wonderful evenings entertainment. This was post a lovely Nepalese curry at the Kathmandu Kitchen also in Temple Bar.
