Brief Description:  Flew wih Martin Withers again

I first met Martin in 1983 when he was my Flight Commander on my first instructional tour in the RAF on Jet Provosts. Martin was the captain of Vulcan XM607 which was the first to bomb Port Stanley airfield in the Falklands War of 1982. He is currently the Chief Pilot of the last flying Vulcan XH558 which I flew along side in the "What a Day" blog .

I was in Martin's guard of honour at his wedding in 1984 and he reciprocated at our wedding in 1986. I had last flown with Martin in 1991 on my second instructional tour so it was great to fly with him again to thank him for giving permission for the RV formation flight with XH558 in 2013 - a day I will never forget.

I had earlier dropped Jill off at Manchester Barton and I also flew Martin's son Andrew, who I last saw when he was about 4, so it was an enjoyable calm autumnal days flying out of the very friendly airfield of Bagby at the foot of the North Yorkshire Moors before heading onto East Yorkshire to visit my father/brother.
