It was always on the tick list to go to the LAA Rally and camp by the plane. My company gave me a voucher for my 5 years award and I used it for a 3 man tent. Jill doesn't do camping.
So I went on my own this year. Thwarted by low cloud on the Friday I flew in on the Saturday and upgraded my crosswind limit to 15 kts as I successfully landed in such without embrassment.
Could have had a better sleep but also could have been worse. Lesson learned get a thicker air mattress!
When I woke everything was covered in dew but I just loved the sight of the empties from the previous nights beer festival on the strake of the Chipmunk next door to me!
Will I camp again? - yes - will Jill? Jury is out!
