i decided to go ahead and do this mod. all it does is prevent the canopy lifters from distorting the sides and front when the canopy is down. pretty easy to make and install. i used 3/8 bolts and smoothed the top of the bolt and put tape over it so it shouldn't rub to bad. we'll see.
