Brief Description: Mounted ignition systems to rails
Starting to work on the electrical system. The first piece to install is the ignition system. I've decided to place the ignition controllers on the passenger's side just behind the firewall. This provides access to the manifold pressure port and makes it convenient to route the wires into the engine compartment. In order to make them more accessible, I decided to mount them upside down on rails mounted into the existing structure. I chose to use 3/4" aluminum angle with .0625" web. I mounted the units with four AN3 bolts. The two boxes are mounted over each other with spacers holding them apart. The bolts run through the flanges on the boxes and the angles into nutplates mounted on the other side. I decided to mount the MP sensor on the same rail. In this way, all the manifold pressure sensors are mounted in the same proximity.
