Today I mounted the ELT on the side panel behind the luggage area. I installed Adel clamps for the antenna wire. I made up the connector for the wires going to the front panel and laced them up to the point of getting through the right conduit. Finally, I riveted the panel into the lower longerons. I found that the panel easily deflects when force is applied to the ELT. I suspect this would easily vibrate the ELT unacceptably given sufficient fuselage vibration. This panel is going to need additional reinforcement. Another day...
