Brief Description: Fixed clearance between spinner and cowl
I've always had a concern with the clearance between the spinner and the front face of the cowl. The prints call out a minimum clearance of 3/16". At the tightest spot, mine was closer to 1/16", but on the othere side, it was 3/16". I filed the backe edge of the spinner to make this clearance constant at any propeller position, but I still was shy of the minimum by at least .100". So I decided to cut a slit in the cowl around the front face, just in the areas that needed more clearance. This provided enough of an attachment to maintain the positioning of both sides. I used sandpaper in the slot to open it up for the clearance I needed. I then fiberglassed the inside of the canopy to reattach the the pieces, now with the proper clearance. I used also added some 1 ounce fiberglass tape on the outside to prevent a crack from developing.
