Today I double checked the SL-30 wiring and powered the unit up. When the skyview and the SL-30 were on together, I noticed a very disturbing continuous poping noise on the audio system. This was very disconcerting after having spent so much time wiring the plane. After researching the problem, I found out that the Skyview units are not quite ready for audio integration. The noise was coming from the skyview units. After disconnecting the audio signals on the skyviews, the problem went away. I was unable to actually hear anyone on the SL-30. Need to borrow a handheld radio to test these. I did configure the serial ports for the SL-30 and test integration between the GPSMAP-696 and the SL-30. You can select a frequency on the 696 and that frequency will be sent to the standby on the SL-30.
