Finding an audio connector for the 696 was very difficult. Most audio connectors extend way beyond the edge thus interferring with mounting the device. I found a right angle connector that was molded into an headphone volume control cable. The wires were really too thin to splice into the input cable for the audio panel, so I took the connector apart and soldered the input cable wires directly onto the jack. I then used epoxy resin to remold the back half of the connector around the wire to insulate it. Seems to work for now. Not sure what the longevity will be. I then spliced the power/signal connector into the leads I had for them. Finally laced up these cables with a service loop to allow me to easily mount and unmount the unit.
