Brief Description:  Prepared instrument side panels

I cut the side panels out of .040 aluminum in order to conform to the sides of the individual component chasses. The GNS-430W and the SL-30 extend beyound the back edge of the side panels. I saw no need to extend the panels further. The screws that mount the side panels to the individual panels go through the inside of the chasses first and then through the panels. On the front edge, I drilled the 1.5"x1.5"x.060" aluminum angle so that the screws would go throught it as well. Each side has three screws that fasten it to the side panel. Two in the front that also go through the angle, and one in the back for support. I intend to mount plate nuts o the angle and the side plates to fasten the screws. I used 1.5" aluminum angle so that there would be sufficient room to mount these nut plates to it. The front flanges will be rivetted to the panel. They will have to be cut down to fit the other instruments.
