Brief Description: Flap and flap ferring installation
Once the final wing position was set, the flaps were installed. The inboard edge of the flap was cut to mate to the fuselage and the flap was temporarily installed with the piano hinge wire. The flap push rods were made per the instructions using 1/4" aluminum tubing and eyelets. The linkages were attached to the flap and the flap mechanism weldment in the fuselage. The fully retracted flap position was set per the aileron neutral position. The aileron neutral position was set per the instructions, using the tooling holes on the outboard ribs of the wings, and then confirmed with a template of the full wing airfoil, and also confirmed using the wingtips. With the flaps in the final fully retracted position, the fuselage flap intersection ferring was fitted to the fuselage and rivoted into place.
