The Rand Robinson KR2S Builders manual and drawings with the serial number 7861 was purchased from Rand Robinson in the USA by Mr D Naude of Krugersdorp in 1998. From 1998 through till July 2004, Mr D Naude managed to partially build the boat, vertical stabiliser, horisontal stabiliser, rudder, elevator, turtle deck, forward and aft main spars, rudder pedals, dual control assembly and canopy frame. The AP on the project who signed off on the above mentioned work was Mr M Spence, Aero Club of SA #3. On 7 July 2004 I purchased the project from Mr D Naude after he purchased a Jabiru and no longer had the time to spend on the project. After collecting the project and taking it to my workshop in Pretoria, Mr P van der Walt, Aero Club of SA #88, was acquired to inspect the project before any work was to be started. Mr P van der Walt was satisfied with the work done to date and gave me approval to continue. I started by manufacturing the undercarrige and temporarely fitting it in order to get the boat of the stands.
