Brief Description:  Installation of the Flap Trailing Edge Wedge-Redo

Installation of the Flap Trailing Edge Wedge-Redo. I had hoped that after a couple of days waiting for the tank sealant to cure, I would be able to rivet the trailing edges. That was not going to happen. When I removed the clecoes and the aluminum angle, there were mutiple gaps where the tank adhesive did not stick the parts together. The goal was to put as thin a layer of adhesive on the wedge. I achieved that goal! But it was not thick enough to adhere the parts. It was a waste of time.

I tried to use the high strength 3M tape as recommended in the plans but that was not going to work. The flap skins were too tight together to allow a easy, neat application of the tape. Trying to peel the backing off the tape while installing the wedges at the same time was not doable. Using the adhesive again would be more manageable.

This time I spread the adhesive with a stick instead of using the roller. I believe I still kept the layer thin. The truth will be revealed when I remove the clecoes in a couple of days. I don't see any billowing of the trailing edge from too much adhesive.
