Brief Description:  Put d-sub connector on the aft end of the DU Cable

I wanted to use the 15 pin d-sub serial cable that comes with the Vertical Power system. But running that cable to the aft location of the Control Unit would require large holes in the bulkheads to allow the connectors to pass. The other suggested option is to make your own wire bundle of 22 ga. wires, run these wires, then put a 15 pin d-sub connectors on each end.
I decided to cut one end off of the serial cable and then run that end aft to the Control Unit through the already available bulkhead penetrations.
Next, I had to match each wire to the correct pin position on a 15 pin connector. I pulled the original connector apart and used the colored wire connections to that connector as the template for pin matching. The original connector wires were encapsulated in a plastic as a strain relief. Efforts to remove this plastic to see the wire connections did result in some broken wires. But those that remained intact gave good clues to the connection sequence.
I used an ohm meter to confirm the identity each wire/pin combination prior to insertion to the connector. After all of the pins were in place, all continuities were again confirmed. E6000 was applied to the wires as they exited the connector to form a strain relief.
When I went to install the connector shellbacks, I discovered that I wasn't sent any ordered 15 pin shellbacks. I'll have to wait for them to arrive to finish the connector.
