Brief Description: Need to Change the Fuel Tanks Sender Units
Need to Change the Fuel Tanks Sender Units. The Senders/Converters that I installed to convert the capacitance fuel level values to a value that the Engine Instrumentation System (EIS) can use are not the right ones for the job. I was getting a reading of 2 gallons in each tank even thought the tanks are empty. Talked to GRT Tech thinking it was a problem with the EIS. Turns out that I need a converter that can be calibrated. One made by Princeton. Just so happens that Todd at GRT is the Princeton man. Ordered two to replace the ones I got from Vans. Those work on a particular make of guages and is called a frequency shifter. There apparenty is some other systems that can use this frequency shifter with the capacitancy fuel level tanks, but not these tanks with this EIS system.
