Went flying Saturday and had an unexpected surprise! I was sitting at the departure end of the Sherman municipal airport listening to the radio calls when all of the sudden I hear an RV on downwind. I think to myself that I should get my phone out and get the camera ready… so as I am sitting and waiting for him to turn base, and then final – I start to pick him up in my camera/phone viewfinder and start snapping away. Then I notice it is actually an RV-8 landing right in front of me! Sweet… Although I didn’t get to talk to the RV-8 pilot in person, other than on the radio, it was great to see a flying version right there in front of me. It was also cool to see the climb out that I will be in for.... grin...
