Brief Description: Two steps backwards...

I was going thru the process of double checking the torque values on all my nuts I could not find a confirmation that the 4 nuts on each lower longeron, forward side, just behind the firewall had been torqued to the proper amount. I could verify from pictures that they had been installed but as far as I could tell, they were never toque sealed. I believe I had torqued them to the proper amount for a regular nut, but since these were nylock nuts, they would need additional torqueing due to the drag of the nylocks. A quick test of the bolts showed me that my suspicions were correct, they were under-torqued. I developed a plan to get at them as they are slightly hidden. I would go in thru the opening where the landing gear saddle provides an opening. Now would be the perfect time to accomplish this task as I am about to fill up the saddle area with bolts, saddles and landing gear, so before all that happens - let’s get those nuts torqued. I conferred with Bob and he agreed with my method and offered some more options if my way did not work out.
I wanted something strong but bendable so I went to Home Depot Aviation and purchased a 1/16” x ½” x 36” flat bar of aluminum as well as a 3/16” x 36” steel rod and a 3/8” socket. Not being able to see the nuts, I would be going in blind, so I needed to measure where there were. My first attempt going in thru the saddle area I used the bar and taped a 3/8” box end wrench to the end. That worked great for the first nut, but wasn’t going to work for the rest of the nuts…back to the drawing board.
