I thought it would be much easier to put the gear on and make the brake lines knowing where the exact fittings would be, even with the fuselage flipped upside down. I know where the fittings come thru the bottom of the gear tower but knowing exactly how far they protrude was the mystery. I was wrong, very wrong. I spent a total of 9 hours on the task and I probably got one hours’ worth of productivity done. The problem was fighting gravity and trying to get the flared end fittings screwed on in the inverted fuse state - contorting my arm reaching "up" thru the gear tower...it was just ridiculously frustrating. I do not have any pictures, because I do not want to remember this session - except for the fun thing I did at the end - which was insert the tailwheel "stinger". It is not installed, and I already pulled it back out - but it provided the much-needed heart frustration relief.
