Brief Description:  Parking brake install

Bob was in town for a double weekend of work in a nearby town and came for visits on both of the weekends. Last weekend we installed gutter guards and I really appreciate all the help on that project. Thanks Bob!

Bob had previously worked up a very nice parking brake platform out of 1/8" angle on his milling maching back at home and so it was the perfect place to start our shop work.

I had kind of been on the fence with the parking brake as I wasn't sure that the extra weight and potential for having an accidental "application" was worth it. But I worked thru the accidental application fears with proper placement of handle and proper installation and just talking thru things with Bob. Bob has also said that they were handy to have when you are on an uneven tarmac or in the grass. Vlad (the Russian RV ambassador) who flies a TON, also said that he didn't install one, but wished he had. So, based on the experiences of those who know more than me, I am looking forward to having one. I did use it occasionaly on the Cessna 172 so really not sure what my issue was.

We started the installation process by drilling out the old hose holder so we could rivet the new platform - which we did. Unfortunately, the hoses are female fittings and the parking brake is a female fitting too. So, I need to order new fittings.
