Brief Description:  Console storage - finished up exterior

I worked the fillet pretty hard as it was causing clearance issues with the metal frame and the box was not sitting down flush on the frame. Using the dremel and the cutoff tool I shaved down the fillet and then the fit was a good one. I tested the console box and even though I shaved down the filet, it is still plenty strong. All in all, the console box is really strong. As a test, I turned it upside down and put a foot on it...and holding onto the fuse and the workbench, I put increasing weight on the console box until I was able to take my hands off the fuse/bench - it held my entire weight!

With the box on position, I could see that I have good clearance on the sides compared to the fuel tube - but I wasn't sure what the clearance was to the bottom of the box. I put a piece of 1/4" foam in the bottom of the trough and set the box back in position and it sat right down and didn't even touch the foam - so all good.

With the clearance good - I put the top metal cover on and screwed in some of the screws to test the install - a little thin on one of the holes in the fiberglass but there are 6 good holes so the box will be held in place and secure. It looks and works good...now I will just need to make a door in the cover and I will be done.... well...I still need to figure out how I want to finish the inside...
