I scraped, sanded and dremelled the foam out of the console and did a lot of sanding on the inside and the outside of the console, but I didn't touch the flange tonight. I dremelled the trough to get it a little thinner as that was the point where any excess resin would flow and dry. It is also where I want to make sure I have a conservative amount of clearance over the fuel line.
After getting the foam out I was really happy with the light weight and strength of the console. Bonding the flange will make it even stronger. I laid on 4 layers of glass and that will be more than enough for what I will put in there, and what I will be able to fit in there.
Tomorrow, I will work on the flange fitting and maybe bond it to the console.
