Brief Description: B. Riveting / Bolting the Elevator stops
With the empennage out of the way, it was easy to rivet and bolt the up and down elevator stops. The down stop was already riveted, partially – so I finished off the remaining 5 rivets with the gun and bucking bar.
The up stop needed to be bolted AND riveted, so I banged the 3 rivets and then installed and torqued the 2 bolt/washer/nut combinations. Torqued to 28 in/lbs. and torque painted.
I also riveted the forward two holes of each rudder stop as I couldn't get inside the fuselage with the bucking bar until the empennage was removed.
