I am planning on gluing the stiffening rib between the cockpit floor (aluminum) and to the cooling ramp (stainless). Since the rib is made out of stainless, and I haven't used the fire barrier 2000 in this manner, I wanted to understand how it would perform as a "bonding agent". Using a scrap of stainless and another scrap of aluminum I set up a test using two made up stainless ribs. I will let these dry overnight and see how the fire barrier adheres to the two bare metals. (pic #1)
The fire barrier is a really good bonding agent. I let it dry completely (48 hours) and then tried to pull the piece apart... I probably could have, given enough time and effort - but it wasn't easy. The rib will be compressed between the floor and cooling ramp, so I feel very confident it will work as intended. I am calling it a successful test.

tried pulling them apart - not easy... test passed
