Brief Description: Reversing AN3 bolts in the gear tower
Not much work today as Bob and I went and hung out at Northwest Regional (52F) for some inspiration. Met Rob Reece who shares part of Doug’s hanger – nice guy who is also building an RV-8. Rob is close to painting the interior of his fuse and since I am also close, I volunteered to help when he and Danny King tackle that project in about a month.
We did go ahead and reverse the outermost AN3 bolt inside the gear tower as it was most likely going to interfere with the forward landing gear washer and nut – as you can see from the pictures the other nuts should not be a factor – but if they are – I will flip them too. We torqued to 24 in/lbs. and painted with the torque seal.
left bolt flipped around - see the second nut and how much it protrudes
