Brief Description:  gear work, misc, clean up

I went out to the shop this morning to see what I could do solo as Teresa was out running errands. I started out by doing some cleanup from the two previous build sessions. After the cleanup, I I got under the "canoe" and reviewed all of the rivets we had previously done these last 2 sessions. I went ahead and drilled two more out and prepared some holes that were drilled out from the first session. One actually needed an "oops" rivet so I drilled that hole out to 1/8" and prepped it for next session when my rivet partner would be back.

I still had some more time so I started thinking about the best way to line up and locate the landing gear and how to locate it in the center of the fuselage and also parallel to the firewall. I think I will go with the laser on each leg and one down the middle from the rear of the fuselage - but more about that later. I also used a straight edge and a sharpie to mark where the brake line fitting will go. I walked the lines around to the bottom of the gear so I can mark the fuselage and then drill the location holes. But those holes are dependent on gear location so I still am not ready to mark and drill those yet. I did mark the 3/16" edge location on the lower side of the fuse where the wear plates will be drilled/bolted to.

In the end I was out in the shop more than the hours I plugged in here, but I was doing a lot of hanging out too - so I didn't feel right about logging all those hours. The shop is a great place to hang out.
