Brief Description:  Deconstruct F-802M intercoastal ribs for LG

Because the Grove landing gear is a one piece design and the Van's standard is a two piece design, some modifications have to be made before the gear will fit. The first order of business is cutting out the F-802M intercoastal ribs in the landing gear trench.

Making the vertical and horizontal cuts was going to be difficult because the working area is tight. I started with a hack saw blade removed from the hack saw frame, with tape wrapped around one end as a pseudo handle. That wasn't going very well as there was a lot of vibration and I couldn't get a firm grip on the blade because of the limited space available. Next, I tried the nibbler tool and that worked much better. I used the nibbler to make two vertical "cuts" and then shifted to the dremel tool with a wide cutting blade on the end for the horizontal cut. The combination of nibbler and dremel made quick work of the first side and then it was on to the next. Unfortunately, the dremel hadn't been used in a while and the battery went south during the second rib... but it allows you to see the nibbler cuts and and dremel cut in picture two and give you a better idea of the process.
