Brief Description:  "Stupid Tax" payment

I decided it was time to pay the “stupid” tax for leaving the hardware box on the shop floor and clipping it with my foot. I gathered up all of the sorted hardware and went to the kitchen table to sort and re-box them. The process went like this. I took the screws and lined them up next to each other on the (flat surface) kitchen table so that I could compare the lengths and widths to make sure that they were all the same. Once I verified that they were all the same, I would pull out a screw from the box that it had presumably come from to use it to compare that one to all of the others. If they were a match, then all of those screws went back to their inventory storage location. I did that for all of the remaining washers, bolts and nut plates – until I was left with a few empty storage bins. Then I had to do the “lookup” method to see what the dimensions are for a AN960-616L washer and which one is the AN960-416L and which one is the AN400-616L? Between the AC Circular 43.13 book I had just gotten for Christmas, the internet and my calipers – I was able to determine what was what and what went where. Finished! I think I learned my lesson.

Like my Dad always told me, “Every education costs you something.” Yep, it still true Dad.

Looks like I just pegged the 1,000 hour mark.... Cool.
