Back in the shop after the self imposed Monday/Tuesday building break, then Wednesday baseball double header, then Thursday evening flying session to prepare for Oshkosh 2014...it's now Friday and I'm back in the shop!
So back to riveting the landing gear box assemblies - I finished the angles and then rivetted the centers on. I had to drill/re-rivet 3 bad rivets - but I was able to see the kind of binding job the new primer does. I was pleased. I had to pry on one of the partially drilled rivets off as I didn't get a clean break on the machined head...and I accidentally scrapped against the primed surface and bam!...nothing. No scapped surface or anything - it heald up really well. So the primer passed the first test. I got both of the preliminary box assemblies riveted - tomorrow I will rivet on the steel reinforcerments.
