I had thought about getting the pushrod fittings welded on - but as I thought more about it today, I decided to drill 'em and rivet them and see if they met my standard. After having to drill out one rivet that cleated over - all the rest went in really well. I was happy with them, so I put the rod ends on in the estimated position of 27 5/8" and took some pictures. I will come back and prime the pushrod ends for good measure...later.
