Brief Description:  Left Wing Skins – 2. Two-man work

With Bob in the shop, and me not quite ready to start riveting top skins, I asked him to install the autopilot roll servo attach bracket. He has already installed his, so the second time thru should be a snap. While he did that (deburing, cleaning, priming and installing the hardware) I finished squeezing the left leading edge rivets and then cleaned up the skins for lap joint readiness and rolled edges. We were now - ready to install top skins on the left wing.

Well that went better than expected – we both seemed to be in a better rythym and we were shooting/driving rivets in an efficient symphony of, “READY, BRRRRPPPPP, GOOD, READY, BRRRRPPPPP, GOOD…” We had to push ourselves, but we finished all the rivets on the left top skin that require two people to set! It was quite an accomplishment, and it was also 10:35pm! We quickly shut things down and I ran Bob back to his hotel…he has to be up in 6 hours to catch a flight back home! Wow, a huge amount accomplished over the last few days. Thanks again for everything Bob.

(I spoke to Bob on Friday and he made the flight home, a little sleepy-eyed, but safe and sound)
