Brief Description:  Straightening the left wing on wing stand

I needed to prep the left wing on the wing stand and go thru the measuring to make the sure the spar was not twisted. I went thru the same iterations as last time.

But, Before starting the calibration process, I decided that it was time to re-calibrate the electronic level. The manufacturer says to re-calibrate if you drop it, or if the temperature changes by 20 degrees or more. Yep, that last thing happened. Glad the first thing didn’t! It's fairly straight forward - you run it thru 8 different attitudes to calibrate it. Dione. I went ahead and re-read the right wing spars after the re-calibration, and was happy to see that it was still at 0.0.

So, on to the left wing - Like last time, I made sure there was no bow from end to end, by running taut fishing line from end to end and taking out the bow with the middle support adjustment. Then, I adjusted the main spar turnbuckle at the inboard and shimmed the outboard point to get a reading of 0.0 degrees on the electronic level. I measured it at 5 points on top of the main spar and it was 0.0 at each point - see pictures below of inboard and outboard points.

I hung the plumb bobs - this time without the skins on, and the difference was 1/32" from inboard o outboard - so we are good.

Oh yea, I ordered my fuselage yesterday! Based on the current lead time that Van's publishes, I am thinking that by 3/14/14 it should arrive in Dallas, but Van's will let me know for sure in a few weeks.
